Experiments In Watercolor

Brace yourselves, this is going to be a long one! I think you all know my love for watercolor backgrounds with powders. I’m not sure why it took me so long to try this though. Rainbows!

I’ve previously shared the top card. Both of these cards were made using Brusho crystals on Distress Watercolor cardstock. The second card features Simon Say’s Stamps Rebecca Lace stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with clear powder. The sentiment is from MFT’s Rainbow Greetings, with the die cut from Color the Rainbow, cut from Silver glitter cardstock.

I also played around with some other color combos.

For this set, I used yellow, red and orange Brusho crystals. The top card was stamped with Hero Arts Floral Doily and embossed in clear powder. I used Concord & 9th’s Hello Sunshine Turnabout die, along with a sentiment from the matching stamp set. C&9’s Copper Glitter cardstock was layered beneath the die cut openings. The card base is Gina K Design’s Coral Reef.

The second card is SSS Rebecca Lace again, embossed with Hero Arts Silver embossing powder. The word sunshine from MFT was die cut from MFT’s Poppy cardstock and layered 4 times. The stamped sentiment is from MFT’s Full of Sunshine, stamped in Altenew’s Heartbeat ink. The cardbase is more Poppy cardstock, with a Coral Reef envelope from GKD.

And of course, I couldn’t have all those supplies out and not make a couple of cards with with Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

The first card in this set is the Center Cut Heart background stamp from SSS, stamped and embossed with clear powder. I used Violet Brocade shimmer powder. The Love die cut is from SSS Love and the stamped sentiment is from SSS You & Me, stamped in MFT’s Boysenberry ink. The card base is the same color.

The second card features the HA Floral Doily, embossed in HA Silver embossing powder, with Cherry Bomb shimmer powder. The die cut sentiment is from C&9’s Hearts & Love set, cut from pink foil cardstock. The stamped and silver embossed sentiment is from SSS Love set. The card base is GKD Passionate Pink. This card packs a shimmer punch!

I’m not sure which ones are my favorites. I love the rainbow cards, but I also love the yellow, and orange combos. It’s a tough call! Which one due you like the best?

Thanks for sticking around through that post and for stopping by. If I missed a detail, or you have any questions, please comment below.
