Winter Wear

Hello! Today I’m sharing a quick post featuring the cards I’ve made with Concord and 9th’s new Winter Wear set.

First up is a card I shared on Monday. This card features one of the faces in the set. Please check out the post from Monday for the details.

Next up, I used just a scarf and the sentiment from the kit.

For this card, I stamped the scarf image on watercolor cardstock with Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. Then I watercolored the image with Altenew’s watercolors.

The background is Concord and 9th’s Snowflake Turnabout stamp, in MFT’s Grout Gray. The panel was die cut with Concord and 9th’s Confetti Card die. I stamped the sentiment from the kit over the background with Versaclair Nocturne ink and embossed it with Wow Holographic Sparkle powder. Then I added the scarf with foam tape.

The card base is Gina K Design’s Tranquil Teal, and I added the stamped panel with fun foam. There is a matching envelope as well. I finished the card by adding clear Wink of Stella to some of the snowflakes.

This last card features the mittens in the set.

For this card, I started with a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock panel, and die cut Concord and 9th’s Swirls. Then I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink (have I mentioned how happy I am to have this color in Distress Oxide ink???) over the swirls. I spritzed the background panel with Shimmer Spray and blotted it, then set it aside to dry.

On a seperate panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock I stamped the mittens in Gina K Amalgam ink and colored them with Copic markers.

Once the background was dry, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark in and embossed it with Hero Arts Silver embossing powder. The mittens were added with foam tape. I used a Silver Wink of Stella marker (pen, shimmer brush, magical tube of sparkle?) under the openings in the die, instead of layering glitter cardstock (I do horde glitter…).

I added a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base to finish off the card, adhered with a tape runner. I’m trying not to use a ton of fun foam so that it’s easier to mail these. Let’s just say I learned my lesson last year. There is a ton of shimmer on this card that does not come across in photos.

I can’t believe it’s December already. I’m still in denial, even though I’ve been cranking out Christmas cards since October.  I feel like I’m either overwhelmed with all the new products I purchased this year, or maybe I’m getting burnt out on the holidays again. For awhile there I felt like I was so inspired, I could make Christmas cards all year long. I think I still have some ideas, just not sure where to go next. I still need 10 more cards, maybe thinking of the recipients will help.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
