Hooray! You know I love the weekend! I’m celebrating the start of this one with a new challenge, the Altenew July Inspiration Challenge.
Here is the image for this month’s inspiration:
For this challenge, I decide to focus on the colors. I flipped through all of my Altenew sets and decided on this pretty floral image.
I started by stamping the image in Gina K’s Amalgam ink on the smooth side of Distress Watercolor cardstock, leaving the image in my Misit.
Using Polychromos pencils in blues and grays, I colored the image. When I was done coloring the image, I put it back in the Misti, and restamped the outline using Altenew Jet Black ink. Then, I used a fine, multi liner pen to fill in some spots, and added a shadow with a light gray pencil. I used a wonky, stitched rectangle to cut the panel down.
Next, I took a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, and stamped the same image with Altenew’s Rocky Shore ink. I cut this panel down with the large, wonky stitched rectangle, and layered the colored panel over it with fun foam.
Using the sentiment from Altenew’s Signature Words, I cut it from black cardstock and MFT’s Brushed Silver cardstock, then layered them together, offset. I added the sentiment to the card with liquid adhesive. Some Platinum gems from Studio Katia finish the card, along with a Enchanted Evening card base from Paper Trey Ink.
I have to admit, I am really starting to enjoy coloring with colored pencils. The more I use them, the more I like them!
The color pallet is a bit different, but I liked it. It would have made a good sympathy card, too. It’s nice to let challenges take you out of your comfort zone.
Thanks for stopping by!
