Hello! I hope you had a good and restful Easter weekend. I know it looked different for many of us, but it’s still a reason to celebrate.
I found myself coming out of my “funk,” a bit this weekend. I’m working on making my “new,” office (aka my craft studio) more comfortable. I’ve been setting up my work computer on my big craft table every Sunday, then taking it down on Friday afternoons. I’m using this table because I can stand up and work, it has the biggest surface area, and the best lighting. However, this means it’s really difficult to get crafty at night during the week. I ordered some inexpensive lights from Ikea, hopefully it will be enough to make it easier for me to craft at night.
Today I’m sharing the card I made for MFT’s March Birthday Project challenge. This month, the theme is flowers.
I went around in circles with this one. First I was going to use a little flower basket with flowers from Bring Out the Sunshine. Then, I remembered I have the Roses All Over paper pad. This card is for my Sister, so I wanted it to fit her.I thought the roses would be feminine but not over the top.
Once I was settled on the paper, I created my card base. I grabbed some 110 lbs Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, scored it and used a dotted embossing folder on the front, going old school (and I almost cut my finger off on my metal shim for my Gemini, but managed not to get any blood on the card…).
I trimmed down my patterned paper and blended ink around the outside. I used MFT Snow Cone but the brush had been used previously and I think I ended up with that ink as well. I trimmed down some scraps of Lawn Fawn’s Pixie Dust glitter cardstock for the top and bottom of the patterned paper. I also used the Pixie Dust for the sentiment, MFT’s Hooray. I layered it with three white die cuts. Typing with my partially severed finger is getting difficult. Ok, it’s not that bad, it just feels that bad. I ended up sporting 4 band aids by the end of the day Sunday.
I die cut a banner from MFT Snow Cone cardstock using one of the fishtails from MFT Vertical Hearts in a Row. I stamped one of my go to birthday sentiments from MFT You Wow Me with Versamark ink and heat embossed it. These pictures make it look like it doesn’t match, but the Roses All Over is also Snow Cone. It matches much better in real life.
Anybody else have a hazardous, crafty weekend? Anyone else typing blog post with two fingers? lol Oh well, at least I got to have a bit of fun this weekend.
Thanks for stopping by and stay safe!
