It’s Your Birthday-MFT Birthday Project

Hey there! How are you doing? I know, the world is a strange place right now. I couldn’t write a blog post and ignore what we are all going through. I hope you are holding up ok. And, I hope you find a few minutes of peace here. I know I did, making this card and writing this blog. If you need someone to talk to, please let me know. I’m a pretty decent listener 🙂

Ok, on to the distraction. Today I’m sharing a card I made for MFT’s Birthday Project Challenge for February. This challenge was to add a heart(s).

This card was a lot of fun to make, and got me out of my watercolor rut. There is a lot to talk about though.

I started this card by stamping the bunnies from Bubble Over With Joy on some Neenah with a Copic friendly ink. Next, I colored the images with Copic markers, and die cut them.

For the grass, I die cut some Distress Watercolor cardstock with MFT Tucked in Turf Vertical. I added Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink with a ink blending brush, and spritzed it with water. For the sky, I added Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink to some Neenah, using MFT’s Cloud Stencil.

I die cut a Free Heart Balloon die from MFT Cotton Candy and Corn Flower Sparkle cardstock. The strings are from Steele Gray cardstock.

I added the bunnies to the “grass,” then added the grass to the card cloud background with foam tape behind the bunnies, and where the grass sticks out. I added the balloons with foam tape as well.

The sentiment is from MFT You Wow Me, stamped on a strip of Neenah with black ink. I added the sentiment with more foam tape. I stamped Let’s Celebrate, from the same stamp set, inside the card.

It was so nice to make a scene card again. I need to get back to making more of these. It’s a bit time consuming, but so much fun!

I just got the Bubble Over With Joy set in a recent sale. I can’t wait to color more of them. Coloring is a good way to manage stress too.

Thanks for stopping by, and stay strong!

Nicole
