Welcome back! First unicorns, not fairies! What a great week! I hope my cards cheer you up, if your week isn’t going that well.
Today’s card was made for A Blog Named Hero’s February challenge, Birthday! I went back to my favorite Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit, the one from December, 2018.
I love the illustrations in the fairy kit! I stamped the fairy and the lady bug with Hero Arts Intense Black ink and let the ink dry. While the ink was drying, I die cut the tree window from the May 2018 kit from some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock four times, then layered them together with liquid adhesive.
Next, I grabbed another panel of Neenah and blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink with a Taylored Expressions Blender brush. I spritzed the inked panel with some Shimmer Spray. When the panel was dry, I added the sentiment from the fairy kit, using Altenew’s Jet Black ink, then added the panel to the die cut windows.
I colored the images with Copic markers, and added them to the card panel using foam tape and liquid adhesive. I added some Lawn Fawn Glitter Pen to the fairy’s wings and dandelion. I finished off the card with a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base.
I made a card similar to this when the kit first came out. I watercolored the tree and added a night sky to that card. For this card, I wanted the fairy to be the focal point.
I find myself coloring images more and more often recently. I took a break, but am enjoying coloring again. I’m looking forward to participating the 30 Day Coloring Challenge this month , even though I’m not good at keeping up with it. Do you participate every day? I’ll probably stamp some images to color, but will give myself some slack with coloring every day.
Thanks for stopping by!
