Craft Studio Update

Hello and happy Monday! Today we are going a little off course. I don’t have a card to share with you. Instead, I wanted to give you a glimpse into my Craft Studio. We’ve been here for almost two years, and this room is always changing.

Here is the room, before we moved in. That huge window sadly faces south, so the light isn’t as awesome as I first hoped it would be.

Here is the first iteration of the room. That blue color still has my heart!

Here we are now. It’s a bit messy, but you can see the changes.

I’ve wanted to record a studio tour since I first moved in, but keep finding excuses not to. Usually it’s because I plan to make changes. Today is no difference. In the next few weeks, I’ll be making an Ikea trip. I’ve had a vision of a L-Shaped desk in this room since we first moved in. It would start up against the wall where the die cutting machines are, and wrap around to where my current table is. Below is my…professional rendering, lol.

I don’t have enough surface space with my current set up. That’s the main reason why I turned the one Kallak unit on it’s side, to try to gain more space. It seems I’m always stopping mid project to clean up.

I plan to use the Kallak unit that is laying on it’s side as the support for part of the table. It will be pulled off the wall, along the edge of the table, so that it’s easy to reach the items in it. There will be table legs in the back, along the wall. I’m going to stick with the counter height tables, so I will need to add legs to the Kallak.

Unfortunately, when ever I am in the studio now, I can’t concentrate on card making. All I do is try to plan out what I want to do with the room. I think I’m going to completely empty the Kallax units, and redo how I store everything. I mean, I’ll keep the ink wracks and the stamp/die bins. But, I want to rearrange where items are placed. I also want to move some items to the desk top, and I’m not sure what to do with the carts.

So, sometime this spring, once I get my room situated, I’ll record a studio tour. You guys can hold me to it 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
