Hey there! I can’t believe it’s already December 4th, it was just Thanksgiving! Today I’m taking a break from holiday cards, and sharing something bright. This card is for the current Birthday Project challenge, Shake, Move & Groove!
This one was an easy one for me, I am a huge fan of MFT’s shaker projects. I have so many of their shaker shapes, I had to pick which shape to use. I decided to use a shape I haven’t used before, the pool shaker.
I tried to make the pool deck out of gray cardstock, but it just didn’t work, so I switched to white. I die cut the pool from a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then added the pool shaker pouch with liquid adhesive. Next, I went in search of a background for my pool. I had some scraps of watercolor panels, so I grabbed one made with Nuvo Shimmer powder and made sure it fit. Then I added sequins and covered the shaker with the watercolor piece.
I finished my card with the little girl from Drink up the Sunshine which was stamped with Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added the cutie to the pool with some dry adhesive, and a bit of foam tape at the top.
The sentiment is also from Drink Up the Sunshine, stamped on a fishtail stitched banner. I added a larger die cut fishtail stitched banner, cut from MFT Cornflower Glitter cardstock. The layered sentiment was added to the card with foam tape.
What do you think? A bright spot in all of this snow? I hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by!
