Hello and welcome back! I hope your weekend was good. My Niece was married this weekend. It was a fun wedding, on the beach!
Another fun thing that happened, this past Thursday, was that my oldest turned 21. Crazy thought, huh! I made her a box card and thought I would share it here.
I made this card using an awesome die from Craftin Desert Divas. Unfortunately, they closed down and you can’t get it anymore. I started out by cutting the die twice from Gina K Design’s Sea Glass card stock, along with the supports for the center of the box.
I cut the cute, stitched pieces from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. The rectangle pieces on the base of the box were stamped with Concord & 9th’s Confetti Turnabout with 4 different colors of Altenew ink (I’m guessing at the colors, Buttercream, Eastern Sky, Wisteria and Pinkalicious). I used the same colors on the flap pieces, both to stamp the sentiments and to blend ink. I’ll come back to the flaps in a minute.
Let’s talk about the pop up pieces. The numbers are Altenew’s Bold Numerals, cut from Simon Says Stamp’s Magenta Glitter cardstock. The die cut sentiment is from Concord & 9th’s Pinata Party, from the same glitter cardstock. The cake is from C&9th’s Cake Layers dies. I cut the cake stand from C&9th’s Neutrals Glitter Silver cardstock, the candles from Gold Glitter cardstock, and the icing from more Magenta. I used acetate to hold up the pop up pieces. The sentiments on the middle and right side are from Confetti Turnabout, and the sentiment on the left from Pinata Party.
I had so much fun making this card. When I asked Caitlin what type of card she wanted for her Birthday, she said, “Go Crazy.” I thought that was the perfect excuse to try out this die set. I will admit you don’t have a lot of room to write a message, but I just added a note in with the box card. The box folds flat, and fit into a 6×6 inch envelope.
Thanks for stopping by,
