Happy Monday! I know, I’m not usually excited about Mondays, but in addition to being off today, I’m also feeling soooo much better. I’m almost near tears, getting over that virus. I can’t tell you how depressing it can be, to be sick for an extended period of time. I’m also so very lucky to be getting better.
Anyway, I have a super quick post today. I thought I would spend the extra long weekend working in my studio, but after spending 12 hours there on Saturday, I just wanted to goof off on Sunday. I did manage to make a card for this month’s Pinkfresh Studio Challenge. The theme is circles, and here is the inspiration image.
Here is my card:
I started out by using the sky stamp Pinkfresh Studio Constellation set. I scribbled several colors of Distress Markers on the stamp, spritzed it with water, and stamped it on to Distress Watercolor cardstock. I set the panel aside to dry and started to work on the front.
I love this sentiment from Pinkfresh Studios, Holiday Vibes (this was a free gift with purchase last year, I think). I die cut the sentiment from Copper Glitter cardstock from the Lawn Fawn Autumn Sparkle pack. I cut the shadow from vellum. Using liquid adhesive, I added the thin script to the vellum. While the glue was drying I grabbed a panel of MFT’s Primitive White cardstock, trimmed it down and die cut a circle.
I was originally going to add snowflakes to the sky with a white gel pen and some white dimensional drops, but decided this was a good opportunity to try the window technique Jennifer McQuire shared a few weeks ago. It involves putting glitter in a laminator pouch, and running it through the laminator. I used Lawn Fawn Chunky Glitter, Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter and some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I die cut a circle that was a little bit bigger then my opening, then added it to the front panel with Scor Tape.
Using foam tape, I added the front panel to the watercolor panel. Next, I added my sentiment with liquid adhesive, and some Gold Foil Pearls from Studio Katia. I die cut the ornament topper from Honey Bee Stamps Globe and Ornament shaker tag set from some Copper foil cardstock. The ornament topper was added to the circle opening with foam tape.
The card base is Gina K Design’s Kraft, just peeking out from the front panel.
I hope you had a great weekend, and this week is good to you! I”m not sure if I’ll have a post on Wednesday, I may take that day off. However, Friday’s post will be another big one, more of my Christmas series.
Thanks for stopping by,
