Once again we are half way through the week. I can’t wait for the weekend, I need a break so bad. I’m having some issues with my B12 level, and even though I know I’m easily irritated because of that, it doesn’t make it any easier to tolerate people right now. Maybe I made today’s card to try to cheer myself up? lol
Today’s card is for this week’s SSS Wednesday challenge. This week the theme is Stamp It and the product focus is SSS products. I grabbed a set I’ve never used before, Sending Flowers. I tried another technique I’ve been meaning to use too.
I started out by trimming down a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, then finding the middle of the panel. Then, I cut down a strip of Gina K Design Soft Stone cardstock and stamped a sentiment from SSS Sketched Flowers with Versamark ink and embossed it with White powder.
I lined up the strip with the center of the Neenah panel, to figure out where to position the flowers. I stamped the flower in Altenew Eastern Sky ink, then flipped the panel and stamped it again. I let the flowers dry a bit, then stamped the center of the flowers with Altenew Buttercream ink.
It was at this point that I realized that despite all my measuring, I had left a gap between the sentiment strip and the flowers. It just so happens that I just got in some of the new Lawn Fawn Pearlescent vellum. I cut a strip to fit my sentiment strip, and layered them together with Scor-Tape. I added the sentiment to the card panel with foam tape. I added the panel to a card base made from Gina K Design Blue Raspberry cardstock.
I finished up the card with some Yellow Bird Nuvo Glitter Drops. This card is simple, but the glitter drops and vellum add a little something to the card. This is a bit of a different color pallet for me, but I think it turned out nice.
So, Stamptember! Have you been celebrating with SSS? I haven’t grabbed any of the collaboration sets yet, but I am hoping the Concord & 9th set is released today. Although, by the time this post goes live, we’ll already know.
Thanks for stopping by!
