Have A Sunshiny Birthday-MFT Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday, and Labor Day. I hope you are having a great holiday, and long weekend. I live in South Florida, so I think you can imagine how my day is going. I wrote this post on Friday, so I could schedule it to post today (I usually write my post on the weekend). I’ll check in on Wednesday, if I can, to let you know how we weathered the storm.

Back to happier thoughts. I wanted to make on last reach for summer, so I grabbed Drink up the Sunshine for this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge (#452).

At first I thought I would make a Christmas card. Then I came across a blue and green Distress Oxide ink panel I made ages ago on Glossy Cardstock. It made the perfect pool.

Since I already had my background panel, I started with the top panel. I trimmed down a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Then I cut out the circles using Spellbinders Classic Circles. Next, I stamped the images from Drink Up the Sunshine with Gina K Amalgam ink, colored them with Copic markers and die cut them.

I added the background to the circle panel with foam tape, then added the images. I stamped the sentiment and die cut it with one of the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment dies. I used the bigger die to cut out some MFT Gold Sparkle cardstock. I layered them together, and added it to the card panel. I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and her hair bow.

This cutie really brightened up my weekend. Helped distract me from worrying about the storm. As I mentioned, hopefully I’ll be able to check in on Wednesday. I have a post scheduled to run no matter what, but I’ll edit it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
