Welcome back! I’ve been suffering from decision paralysis for a few weeks now. I’ve been ahead of the game with challenge projects and blog post, leaving myself tons of free time to “do what I want,” card making wise. Only problem is, I can’t figure out where to start.
Normally I can count on a challenge prompt to give me some direction. Unfortunately that was not the case with the Simon Says Stamp’s Work it Wednesday challenge for July. This month the prompt is Tim Holtz. Gah! There are so many cool Tim Holtz products, I could do just about anything! How is my paralyzed brain going to pick something?
I decided to just play around with stuff, and got out some previously made backgrounds (what I normally do when stuck, make random backgrounds). I just so happen to have a bunch of backgrounds made with Concord & 9th’s Herringbone Background Stamp and Distress Oxide inks. I grabbed the rainbow background and went to town.
I trimmed down the panel with a Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle die. Then I grabbed the Just Love set from Concord & 9th and stamped the outline stamp, using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I used the love stamp to fill in the outline with more Nocturne ink. Then I heat embossed them with Gina K Design Clear Embossing Powder.
I stamped the rest of the sentiment with more Nocturne ink and embossed it with clear powder.
I added some clear confetti sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and added the panel to a Gina K Slate card base with fun foam.
Pretty simple, with the pre-made background!
Now if only I could figure out a way to deal with my decision paralysis…
Thanks for stopping by!
