Monster-ous Birthday Wishes-Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge

Happy Monday, I hope. If not, I have a cute card to cheer you up. Monsters can be cute, right? These are.

Today’s card was made for this week’s Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge. The challenge this week is Add a Number, and the product feature is Your next Stamps. I think I’ve mentioned it before, but Silly Monsters from Your Next Stamps was one of my first sets. Cute sets like this are what got me into card making in the first place.

I started out by stamping the little guys from Silly Monsters in Hero Arts Intense Black ink, then I colored them with Copic markers. After die cutting them with the matching dies, I worked on the background. I decided to use the Polaroid Shaker Frame from MFT to die cut a frame from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I also cut a piece the same size from MFT’s Cornflower Sparkle cardstock, to layer behind.

I had the background already made using Concord & 9ths Dotted Fill-In, and Altenew’s Eastern Sky ink. I added the monsters to the frame with Be Creative Tape, and some foam tape at the top. I added some white cardstock to the back, then added the sparkle cardstock. I die cut a Paper Smooches balloon from white cardstock, and blended Altenew’s Tide Blue ink. Then I added a 6 I die cut from more Cornflower Sparkle cardstock using MFT’s Confetti Number. The balloon was added to the card with foam tape.

The sentiment from Silly Monster was stamped on the frame with Altenew’s Jet Black ink. I also stamped Happy Birthday inside the card. Oh, and I added Glossy Accents to the eyes.

Isn’t this super cute? I love these little monsters, and it’s been a while since I played with them. I really need to get out more of these older set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
