To A Charming Friend- MFT Birthday Project

Hello! I have good news! I have finally managed to make a card for the MFT June Birthday project! It only took three tries. I know, you guys must be so very proud of me. It’s a Peek-a-boo surprise birthday card, not a Christmas card.

Ok, I know the suspense is killing you. Here is THE card.

And, here is where I realized I once again messed up this challenge… It’s not a birthday card. I’m crying right now. No, wait…I can fix this. Let me share the card with you. Then I’ll tell you how I’m going to make it work.

This is a tri-fold card as well as a peek-a-boo card. I decided to use the MFT Magical Dragons set, and worked with some images I had previously stamped and colored with Copic markers. I worked out the pieces for the card, with the help of a video from Jennifer McGuire. I took a full piece of MFT Sno Cone cardstock and cut it into two pieces of 8 1/2 by 5 1/2. Then I scored both pieces down the middle, and cut a sliver of cardstock from each half.

Next, I made the scene for inside the card on a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I used the Grassy Edges stencil to add some grass, with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. The Cloud stencil and some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink made the clouds. I laid out the images, and worked out where to put the window. Using the Square Peek-a-boo Window die, I created the window for the front. Then, I adhered the stenciled panel, and the images, making sure only the knight was visible in the window.

I stamped the sentiment for the front on more Neenah, and die cut it with the Fishtail Sentiment strips. I added the sentiment to the front with foam tape. I stamped the second sentiment on the inside of the card.

Right now the inside piece is plain… but I’m going to stamp Happy Birthday. Then it will be a birthday card. Sigh. Why am I so easily distracted? Why did I forget to make this a birthday card?

Anyone else have a difficult time staying focused?

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
