Welcome back! Today I am writting a quick post to share the card I made for the June A Blog Named Hero Challenge.
This month the theme is Sympathy. I struggle with Sympathy cards, which I guess is why the challenge helps.
I was originally planning to make a card similar to the Father’s Day card I made, using the Ocean Themed My Monthly Hero kit. But then I decided I wanted to use a set I don’t always reach for, something I’ve had for a while.
So, I broke out the Bloom set from Hero Arts, and made a simple framed card.
I started out by stamping the flowers from the set with Altenew Eastern Sky ink. Then I stamped the leaves with Altenew Olive ink, along with the stems. The berries were stamped with Ultramarine, and the bow with azurite. Then I added the sentiment from Bloom, using Altenew Jet Black ink.
Using Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle dies, I created a frame for the Blooms using Gina K Design Soft Stone cardstock. I added a Neenah card base, and stamped “Thinking of You,” from Hero Arts Hello stamp set using more Jet Black Ink.
This card came together pretty quickly, once I figured out what I was doing. I wanted to keep the colors muted and soft, so I went with blues and grays.
What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!
