Thank You- Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Happy Forth of July Eve! I didn’t make any forth of July related cards this year, but I did make a cards almost as sparkly as fireworks!

This week, the challenge theme is Anything Goes, and the product focus is Stampendous.

I only have a couple of sets from Stampendous, and I wanted to so something different this time. I had played around with the Herringbone Background stamp from Concord & 9th the night before, and had a background I could use. I decided to use one of the silhouette floral stamps from Agapanthus Thanks set for my card.

I stared out by stamping the large bloom with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink on some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, and heat embossing it with Wow Holographic Sparkle powder. Then, I die cut the flower using a Spellbinders Standard Circle dies.I wanted the circle to stand out from the background, so I inked the edge with some dark gray ink. It didn’t really provide the look I wanted, so I die cut some Gina K Slate cardstock using a slightly larger circle.

The background was creates by inking the Herringbone Background stamp from C&9 with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink, spraying it with water, and then stamping it on to some Distress Watercolor cardstock. I like to let the stamp sit on the paper for 30 seconds or so before I pick the stamp back up. I used my MISTI for this technique and it works great.

I cut the background panel down using the outline die from Concord & 9th’s Confetti Cards die set. I added the slate circle with a tape runner, then the heat embossed circle with foam tape. Before I adhered the circles, I stamped the sentiment from the Agapanthus Thanks set with Altenew Jet Black ink.

I wrapped up the card with a Gina K Slate card base. I was going to add some gems, but it seamed too busy.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
