Welcome back! I am so excited to share this card with you! I’m not sure how I managed to sit on it for this long.
Details first. The card I am sharing today was made for Altenew’s June Inspiration Challenge. Here is the inspiration image:
I’m using a new set for today’s card. As soon as I saw the Sunflower Daisy stamp set, I knew I had to have it. Daisies were my mother’s favorite flower, and I’m not sure how I got this far into card making without a daisy set. This set isn’t just some daisies thought, it’s an Altenew layering stamp set, which means it’s stunning.
Altenew is now including brochures (?) along with their stamp sets that include inspiration. The brochures also include suggested ink combinations. Here is one of the pages from the Sunflower Daisy set.
I really wanted to create the daisy at the bottom left, but it doesn’t include the yellow color from the image. I managed to come up with a combination for the smaller daisy. I thought the Firebrick would work for the dark red color, but it’s a little more orange.
For the large daisy, I skipped the first stamp so I would have the white. The rest of the petals were Sand Dunes, Rocky Shore, and Firebrick. I didn’t want to use green for the center, so I used Rocky Shore, Caramel Toffee and Paper Bag. The smaller daisy is Sunray and Caramel Toffee, with the center Rocky Shore, Mocha and Espresso. The larger leaves are Frayed Leaves, Forest Glades and Evergreen. The smaller leaves are Moss.
Once I had the flowers and leaves stamped, I used the matching dies to cut them out. I created a card base from Gina K Design Kraft cardstock. I laid out the images and then positioned the sentiment from the set. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Wow Opaque White Detail embossing powder.
After embossing the sentiment, I added foam tape to the flower and leaves, and added them to the card.
I love how realistic the layering images look. I actually made my son come into my studio and check this card out, I was so excited about it. I can’t wait to try this set out with more colors.
Have you tried Altenew’s layering floral stamps before? What is your favorite set? I think this one is my new favorite.
Thanks for stopping by!
