Brace yourselves, my next two post are kind of out there! I did some experimenting, and am sharing those with you.
First up, we have the card I made for the Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday monthly challenge. For May, the challenge is Summer Vibes! I thought Concord & 9th’s Cool Treats Turnabout would be perfect for this. I’m also still on this foiling kick, with the tip that Jennifer McQuire shared last month.
The technique that Jennifer shared is stamping an image, embossing it with clear embossing powder, adding foil on top, then running it through a laminator. Unforunately, I didn’t stamp my image very good, so the foil didn’t adhere very well. Totally my fault. I use iridescent Deco Foil this time.
For the popsicle, I used a scrap of an alcohol ink panel. I stamped the sentiment from Cool Treats with Versamark ink, then heat embossed if very carefully with Wow Opaque White powder. I added the popsicle to the foiled panel with fun foam. Then I added the foiled piece to a MFT Periwinkle card base. The envelope is Gina K Wild Lilac.
I love the fun vibe of the foiled background, even with the not so great stamping. I think you’ll see more of this technique from me. AND, I did get my hands on some Deco Foil Transfer Gel. That should be fun!
Thanks for stopping by!
