Welcome back! I’m popping in today to share a tip for the new Simple Serif set from Concord and 9th. Since the post yesterday was already a book, I thought it best to write a separate post for this. I won’t torture you with the video I attempted to make.

Yesterday I shared a card using this set, with a pattern stamped on the letters.

For the card above, I stamped the Woodgrain block from the Joyful Noel stamp set. I also tried other patterns from C&9th.

My apologies, but I die cut these for the video, and didn’t take a picture of the stamping beforehand. Starting at the top left, the woodgrain from Joyful Noel, top right stripes from Little Love tags, along with the hearts below. Bottom center is from Celebration Cards, and bottom left stripes from Wonderful Florals.

Above are the die cut letters. The blue d used the same stripes from Little Love tags, but stamped vertically instead of horizontally. Not all patterns will work. I think the letters are too small for the scallops, and I’m on the fence about the hearts. But, these patterns give you a chance to stretch the dies and give them a new look. I really liked the look of the woodgrain for the Father’s Day card.
Can you think of any other patterns to use? Please share in the comments below.
Thanks for stopping by!
