Hello and welcome back! I’m so happy to have you here. I’m also really excited to share today’s card with you. It turned out so much better then I thought it would!
I’m getting ahead of myself again. Today’s card was inspired by this month’s Altenew Card Inspiration challenge. Here is the inspiration image:
While I had all my Altenew sets out for the Simon Says Stamp challenge, I noticed that I had a flower from the Build a Flower Chrysanthemum in colors that match the flower in the image. I built my card around that.
I had this idea to use the brush strokes for another card (you’ll see it on one of the Concord and 9th Feature Fridays), and I thought it would work well here too. I started out with a panel of Gina K Design Soft Stone cardstock. Using the brush image from Concord and 9th’s Peek-Through Patterns, I stamped Altenew’s Gray Denim three times.
I layered the flower and leaves over the paint brushes with foam tape. The sentiment from the Chrysanthemum set was stamped with Gray Denim on white cardstock. I added some brushed silver cardstock to the sentiment, to make it stand out. Some Glossy Thistle Pearls from Lucy’s Cards finish off the card.
The flower was stamped with the Cherry Blossom ink set from Altenew. The leaves are I believe the Green Valley set.
I really love the contrast of the pink with the gray background. The pearls are more pink in person too. This card has a modern vibe to it.
