Happy hump day! As promised, I’m sharing more My Favorite Things today. I’m fact, I have two cards today!
This week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday challenge is Have a Heart with MFT as the featured products. Boy did I have fun with this!
More bad picture apologies. It rained all weekend and I get home from work to late during the week to get new pictures.
For this card, I started with the heart. I die cut it from one of the alcohol ink panels I made while working on art pieces for the house. This panel had great areas but overall wasn’t great. So, using the window die from the Heart Window and Frame die set, I cut out one of the stunning areas. The alcohol ink colors are Turquoise and Coral, with some gold mixative.
Once I had the heart cut out I had to figure out what to do next. I used the largest Mod Rectangle die to cut a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock panel. I was going to go clean and simple, leaving the white panel alone, but it needed something more.
So, I took the Hero Arts Ornate Floral stencil and blended Tumbled Glass and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink on the corner. Then I added Moonstone Nuvo Glitter Paste over the same area.
Once the Paste was dry I added my heart with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from MFT’s From The Heart in Versamark ink and embossed with Hero Arts Gold Powder. The sentiment strip was die cut using from MFT’s Hearts in a Row Vertical die set.
To finish the card I used MFT’s Poppy cardstock for the card base (I’m really loving this color).
Speaking of Hearts in a Row Vertical, I used that die to make another card!
I cut the hearts from Gina K Design’s Lovely Lavender cardstock. I took a panel of Distress Watercolor cardstock and blended Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink down the panel for an ombré effect. Using the HA Ornate Floral stencil I added more Moonstone Nuvo Glitter Paste.
I layered the die cut panel over the glitter pasted panel using foam tape.
The sentiments from MFT’s From The Heart we’re stamped on more Lavender cardstock in Versamark ink, heat embossed with Wow White Opaque Powder and die cut with the sentiment strips from the Hearts in a Row set. I blended more Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink around the edges of the strips to help them stand out a bit more.
The card base is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.
I fell in love with that sentiment combo and that is the main reason I made a second card. I tried to use that combo on the first card, but I didn’t want to cover up the alcohol ink heart too much.
I wish you could see these in person. The alcohol ink heart is gorgeous, as is the Wilted Violet with the Moonstone Nuvo Paste. I am having a lot of fun with hearts and MFT products!
Thanks for stopping by!
P.S. I just got the idea to try Moonstone Glitter Paste over one of my multi color watercolor backgrounds. What do you think?
