Guys! Guys, I am so excited to share this card with you! Seriously I’ve been sitting on this card for over a week now. When I saw that the January A Blog Named Hero challenge was Crafter’s choice, I happy danced! It gave me a chance to really experiment and just go with the flow.
Ok, no more chit chat. Here it is:
I started out by stamping the Star Light, Star Bright Bold Print Background in Altenew’s Sapphire ink, while masking off the area in the middle for the sentiment. I created the mask by tearing Post it tape, giving the mask those cool edges.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts’ Lucky Star Stamp set. I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed it with Hero Arts’ Silver embossing powder. I absolutely love that sentiment!
I trimmed down the background panel and added some silver glitter cardstock behind it (from the October 2018 kit) using fun foam.
The gems are Platinum from Studio Katia and the card base is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.
This is one of those cards where I was just experimenting, not sure if it would work, and was pleasantly surprised it did. It looks so much better in real life!
While I had the background stamp out, I decided to stamp it with Versamark ink and emboss the whole thing with HA Silver embossing powder. This past weekend I finally made that panel into a card. I like the sort of distressed effect with the embossing.
I’m not going to cover all the details, but I will let you know the main parts. The hello is from the March 2018 MMH kit and is cut from Gina K Designs’ Slate cardstock (card base too). The sentiment is from the Lucky Stars set embossed with my favorite Wow Holographic Sparkle Powder.
What do you guys think about the background stamp? I fell in love with it when I first saw it, even though it’s sort of like the Pretty Moon Spiral Bold Print Background stamp. Oh, I just got a good idea for the Pretty Moon stamp. Stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by!
