Merry Christmas Eve! I’m popping on real quick to share the card I made for MFT’s Sketch Challenge #416.
Here is the sketch:
And here is my card:
As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use a alcohol ink background. I had this one, which was left over from last Christmas. I had meant to make a Christmas card with it, but got distracted with other designs. It does make really good water though.
This image from MFT’s Otterly Adorable was stamped a while ago, I found it uncolored in the pouch with the stamps. I colored him (her.. it?) with Copic markers and die cut …him.
I trimmed a strip out of the alcohol ink panel to match the sketch, and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with Wow’s Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder. Then I added both pieces of the alcohol ink background to a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base with fun foam. I added my little otter buddy with Scor-Tape, and added a little clear Wink of Stella to his heart. I also added some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops to his eyes and nose.
I’ve been on a clean and simple kick lately (you’ll see later this week). My last round of Christmas cards were simple and quick. Now this. But, I’m enjoying the simple looks.
I hope you have a Very Merry Christmas with your families and friends. I am thoroughly enjoying having my family under one roof, AND the “kids,” coming in and out for visits. I do like my quiet, but I missed having a full home.
Thank you for stopping by and spending some of your holiday with me!
Nicole
