Welcome back and happy Friday! I’m starting an 11 day vacation today!
To celebrate, I’m sharing a long post with some cards made using MFT’s Christmas Background Stamp. This is a lovely text background stamp, with a bunch of Christmas words.
I finally got to play with this stamp last weekend, and made several backgrounds. Let’s start with the watercolor, because you know I played with watercolors.
For this card, I stamped the stamp in Versamark Ink and embossed with Hero Arts Silver embossing powder. Then, I sprinkled Blue Blitz Nuvo Shimmer Powder, sprayed it with water and set it aside to dry.
While the panel was drying, I tried to figure out what to do with it. I used the circle die from Concord and 9th’s Everyday Greetings (along with the burst) to die cut from Neenah Classic Crest cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment from Concord and 9th’s Very Merry Sentiment in Versamark Ink and embossed it with Silver embossing powder. I added it to the card with foam tape, and then added some Pretty Pink Posh gems.
The card base is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. You can almost see the shimmer from the powder in the second picture. It’s so pretty in person.
This next card is very similar to the first, only with Wow White embossing powder instead of silver. I also used less shimmer powder.
I wish there had been some sunshine so the pictures would show the color better.
To finish up this card I die cut the large sentiment from Concord and 9th’s Merry & Bright from MFT’s Silver Sparkle cardstock, and layered it over three white versions. The card base is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.
I repeated the white embossing on this panel, but with Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock instead of watercolor. Then I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink over the panel.
I added a stitched rectangle to the panel, to provide a spot for the colored images from MFT’s Secret Santa set, which were colored with Copic Markers. I used a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock card base, and added Glossy Accents to the ornaments.
For this last card I was trying to use a silver embossed panel, but it was too much. So, I stamped the background stamp with MFT’s Grout Gray. Next, I die cut a stitched rectangle from vellum and added the snow globe. The snow globe is from Honey Bee stamps with the images inside from Hero Arts October 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit. The sentiment is from the same kit, embossed in Silver embossing powder. I used a Grout Gray cardstock card base.
I love the look of the Nuvo Shimmer Powders over the text. The shimmer is so pretty!
Thanks for stopping by!
