Hello and Welcome back! I played around in my craft studio this weekend without a lot of structure, so my blog post will be a little different this week. I didn’t participate in any challenges, but I thought I could round up some items from the Daily Marker’s 30 day Coloring Challenge, that I turned into card.
First up is this adorable image from Pinkfresh Studios. This is a new company to me, and so far I’m digging it!
I started out by stamping the bears with Hero Arts Intense Black ink and coloring them with Copic Markers. Then I die cut them with the matching die. I stamped the sky background with Gina K Designs In The Navy ink on a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White panel.
I positioned the bears so I could figure out where to stamp my all time favorite sentiment, “The Snuggle is real.” I stamped this in more navy ink, then added the bears with foam tape. I added black Nuvo Drops to the bear’s eyes and noses.
The card base is also Gina K Designs In The Navy, and I added another panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock, so that a sentiment could be stamped.
I usually leave cards blank inside, but I couldn’t resist the other sentiments in this set. I added “Sending you warm wishes and snuggly Hug,” in more navy ink. I absolutely love the sentiments in this set.
Next up is the card I made inspired by my daughter.
For this card, I stamped the girl from Concord and 9th’s Winter Wear on a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White panel and set it aside. I stamped the cap and scarf on watercolor cardstock and colored with Altenew’s watercolors. Then I die cut them with the matching dies.
I colored the girl with colored pencils, then went back over her lashes and nose with a black marker. This image with the braid reminded me of my daughter, so I colored her hair purple and blue to match Caitlin’s.
For the background I used the Swirls dies, and layered it with Cornflower Sparkle cardstock from MFT. I also cut some heart out for embellishment.
I added the cap and scarf with foam tape, along with the sentiment, which was stamped on MFT’s Periwinkle cardstock and cut out with Concord and 9th’s Holly Jolly Banner. The sentiment is from Concord and 9ths Snowflake Turnabout,
The card base is also MFT’s Periwinkle cardstock.
Next up, we have the floral image from Concord and 9th’s Grateful for Everyone.
When I colored this image, I tried to go out of my comfort zone and approach it differently. I’m really happy with how it turned out. I stamped the image with Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I was going for fall colors, so I went dark.
I stamped the sentiment from the set in Altenew Jet Black Ink, and added some Ruby Slippers Nuvo Glitter Drops. The card base is MFT’s Cranberry.
Last up, we have the ornament from Concord and 9th’s Ornamental.
I started out this one by stamping the ornament in Intense Black ink, then colored with Copic markers. Next I used the matching die to cut out the ornamnet, and added it to a Gina K Design’s Kraft panel, which I trimmed down using Concord and 9th’s Confetti card die. I used foam tape to give the ornament dimension.
I die cut the Merry from Concord and 9th from MFT’s Brushed Gold cardstock, along with the ornament topper. I also cut the Merry from white cardstock three times, and glued them all together. I added the sentiment to the ornament with liquid adhesive, and added some Ruby Slipper Nuvo Glitter Drops to accent the card.
The card base is MFT’s Wild Cherry, and I added a red ribbon to the ornament because it makes me twitchy to leave it unadorned.
That’s all I’ve gotten done so far with the images I colored. I have a few more left to play with, but I think they are going to wait until I’m done with Christmas cards.
Thanks for stopping by!
