Welcome back! I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving! I took a couple of days off to hang out with my son and just be. It was nice to disconnect for a little bit.
I’m back today to share the card I made for Altenew’s November Inspiration Challenge.
First off, let’s take a look at the inspiration image.
Here is my card.
I stamped this floral image from Altenew on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock using Versafine ink and embossed it with Wow Holographic Sparkle embossing powder. Then I watercolored it using Altenew watercolors.
I really wanted to make this a Christmas card, but I don’t have any holiday sentiments from Altenew.
Since we all know how stubborn I am, I decided to use the Calligraphy Alpha dies to spell joy. I die cut them from Black cardstock first, but it didn’t look right to me. I tried vellum, but they disappeared. So, why not combine the black and vellum.
I still think it looks awkward, but since I glued them down and can’t peel them back up without wrecking the card, here you are. I added clear Wink of Stella over the letters, because shimmer fixes everything…
I also added some red gems, to try to distract from the awkward sentiment. The card base is MFT’s Wild Cherry.
Next time I need to remember not to force the card. I could have easily used a different sentiment. Maybe made it one of those Christmas themed thank you cards I keep saying I’m going to make (tune in Wednesday lol).
I think I may have promised you the post for the desk calendars last week, and I apologize. I got in a funk last week and been having a difficult time shaking it. But, I did get the pictures taken, and am hoping to have it ready for you guys this Friday. Thank you for hanging in and being patient!
Thanks for stopping by!
