Mixing Old and New -Concord and 9th

Happy middle of the week! Time is flying by, I’m still in denial that it’s November. I feel like I’m still back in August… Only surrounded by Christmas cards!

Today I thought I’d show you some cards I made last weekend using some older, non-Christmas stamps. I mixed these older sets with some newer Christmas sentiments.

The first three cards were made with the images from the Wreath Turnabout set.

This first card features the wreath stamped in Golden Glitz and Ruby Red Delicata ink, as well as Lucky Clover and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink, on Kraft cardstock.  The sentiment is from Very Merry Sentiments, stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold on MFT’s Wild Cherry cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using a die from Concord & 9th’s Yay dies.

The sentiment was added with foam tape, and I added some die cuts from C&9th’s Holiday Cheer Tags, using scraps of glitter cardstock. I also added Ruby Red Nuvo Glitter drops as berries. The card base is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.

For this card I used the same ink colors, just on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock instead of craft. The sentiment is from Merry and Bright, also stamped in Delicata Ruby Red ink.img_4457

Cherry Jewels from Lucy’s Cards accent the card, and the card base is MFT’s Wild Cherry.  I added the panel to the card base with fun foam.

This card features the other image from the Wreath Turnabout, using the same colors of ink. I die cut a circle from vellum, stamped the sentiment from Very Merry Sentiments with Versamark along with adding ink to the edges, and heat embossed it in gold.

I added the circle to the card panel, and added the berries and leaves from Merry & Bright to the circle. The kraft card panel was added to a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base with fun foam.

This last card features the Dahlia Turnabout, stamped with Ruby Red and Golden Glitz Delicata ink. I used the Holly Jolly Banners die on Wild Cherry cardstock, and layered scraps of gold glitter cardstock underneath.

I added the banner to the card panel with foam tape, and added the mistletoe from Merry & Bright. I finished off the card with a Wild Cherry card base.

These cards were part of my whirlwind last weekend. I just made cards like a mad woman, it was so much fun! I have even more ideas in my head, but I had to stop so I could finish the desk calendar project. Christmas is so inspiring to me, I think I’m going to make Christmas cards all year long. Or, maybe it’s that I bought so many new items the play with. At least I was able to mix some old and new for these cards.

P.S. I almost forgot to include my favorite card!

I used some plank backgrounds I stamped ages ago from Petals and Planks for the background (I think it’s Gina K Design’s Moonlit Fog cardstock and not sure in the ink). I can’t take credit for this background idea, I saw a card on Pinterest or Instagram and I can’t remember who shared it, I am sorry whoever’s fabulous idea this was!

I die cut the large sentiment from Merry and Bright from Simon’s Crimson glitter cardstock and layered it over three white die cuts. The branches and pine cone are from Holiday Labels, cut from cardstock scraps. I gold heat embossed the bottoms of the pine cones to add a little something extra. The card base is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!
