Welcome back! Boy was I on fire this past weekend! I cleaned the house, changed out the light fixtures in the kitchen, made 10 cards and came really close to finishing the desk calendars (just need to assembly them and make the stands). I feel like I could run a mile right now (could be all the caffeine…)
So, today I’m going to share one of the 10 cards I made. I hope you’ll bare with me, it’s another Filled With Joy Card, which I made for this week’s sketch challenge.
Here is the sketch:
I started out by die cutting openings for the shaker ornaments with Mini Circle Shaker Window and Frame dies. Then I laid out my sentiment, stamped it with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white powder.
Next I die cut the ribbon and ornament toppers for MFT Silver Sparkle cardstock and adhere it to the card panel with liquid adhesive.
I cut apart the Circle Trio pouches and adhered them to the back of my panel with Scor-Tape. Then I added the jewels from Lucy’s Cards, and covered the shaker pouches with acetate (this is a trick I use to make it easier to maneuver my card panel into place). I added a thin strip of Silver Sparkle cardstock to the right side of the panel for accent.
Finally, I added the card panel to a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base. This was a card idea I had been kicking around for awhile, and when I saw the sketch I knew this was the perfect time to make it.
I love making shaker cards for Christmas and am a little behind this year. I try to send shaker cards to any families with young kids and so far this year I only have three cards. Thankfully the Filled With Joy Card Kit makes it so easy to make them.
Thanks for stopping by!
