Happy weekend! My hand is still busted. Oh, did I mention I messed up my hand last week, then decided to paint the living room with it? It’s not very happy. I bumped it very lightly last night and now there is new bruising. I’m thinking I should probably rest it for a few days.
So, quick post to share the card I made for this month’s Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge. I can’t link to the site, or share the badge as the page is down. But, I can tell you the challenge is Layers.
Here is my card:
I created the background by sprinkling Black Brusho Crystals on Distress Watercolor cardstock. When the panel was dry, I sprayed it lightly with Bronze Distress Mica Spray. Then I used the Star Turnabout die 4 times. I saved the die cut stars for later.
While waiting for the panel to dry, I die cut the sentiment from Merry & Bright out of MFT’s Gold Sparkle cardstock and three times from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I layered the 4 pieces together with liquid adhesive, then added it to the watercolor panel.
I used the die cut stars to embellish the panel, then using foam tape, added it to a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White caed vase. The envelope is Gina K Design’s Moonlit Fog.
I know it’s not the traditional Christmas color pallet, but it has a certain elegance with the Mica Spray a glitter. It doesn’t come across so well in the pictures, but it really pretty. What do you think about non-traditional colors for Holiday cards?
Thanks for stopping by!
