Welcome back! My post schedule is a little bit messed up this week, due to World Card making day, and trying to post blog post before challenge deadlines. Sorry about that!
This post is to share the cards I made for MFT’s Sketch challenge 405. Yes, I says cards, I made more then one this time. I know, I’m shocked too! I really thought this challenge was going to be tough. This looked like one of those challenges where my card ends up looking so awkward, but I ended up happy with it. Even my son said it looked good!
Here is the sketch:
Here is my first card:
This one is truer to the sketch then the second one. I used MFT’s Geometric Stars stencil with Gold Delicata ink. I tried to fade it out on the sides and ends. I cut the ornament from the Filled With Joy kit, from Brushed Gold cardstock, the top and string from Gold Sparkle cardstock. The center part of the ornament was cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.
I stamped the sentiment on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock with Altenew Jet Black ink, and die cut it with Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips. I added the strip and the ornament to the card panel with foam tape. I added some gold confetti sequins to accent the card, and a Kraft card base.
Next up, more Gold Delicata.
I took the ink right to the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock trying to get a feathery look. I almost succeeded… I die cut the J and Y from the same stamp set from more Brushed Gold cardstock. This time I cut the ornament from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock and used the Brush Gold on the inside.
I kept the Gold Sparkle cardstock for the ornament topper and the ribbon. I added the components for the Joy flat, and the rest of the sentiment with foam tape. I promise I will use another sentiment from this set… I tried on this card, but I glued Joy to close to the top, and didn’t have the room I needed.
I finished off the card with clear Confetti sequins, and a kraft card base.
I’m pretty happy with out these cards turned out. Both are a bit different from my normal style, but I really liked being different.
Thanks for stopping by!
