Hello and welcome back! I posting half a day early so that I can share the cards I made for MFT’s World Card Making Challenges.
MFT is hosting 3 challenges in honor of World Card Making Day. Here are the challenges, and the cards I made.
First up we have ROYGIBV. This challenge was either use rainbow colors or a rainbow!
I’ve been mulling over a glitter rainbow for awhile now, and felt this was the perfect opportunity. We didn’t have to use all MFT products, so I decided to use this Concornd and 9th rainbow die. This die lets you cut each “beam,” individually, so you don’t waste cardstock. I did cut the beams from different colors of MFT Sparkle cardstock (Cotton Candy, Gold, Green Eyed Monster, Cornflower and Pure Plum). I blended the clouds using MFT’s Cloud Stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.
The sentiment is from MFT’s Rainbow Greetings, stamped in Extreme Black ink. The card base is MFT’s Sno Cone.
Next up is Clean and Simple.
I actually colored most of this little boy from Little Buddies at MFT’s store during the Daily Marker Road Trip. I finished him off today, and added the puppy from New Best Friend to a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock with foam tape. The sentiment is from New Best Friend, stamped with Extreme Black ink. I added the heart, also from New Best Friend, stamped in Altenew’s Rudy Red and colored in with Red Wink of Stella. I added a little shadow with Copic markers.
The card base is Gina K Design’s Blue Raspberry, and I added Glossy Accents to the heart, and Ebony Nuvo drops to the eyes.
Last, but not least, we have Flowers.
I grabbed this Happy Birthday die when I was at the MFT store. I die cut it from watercolored cardstock, and from MFT Silver Sparkle cardstock. I layered the two, with the silver sparkle as a shadow.
In order to meet the flower requirement, I added a strip of All Over Roses patterned paper. I only have one set of flower stamps from MFT, and I wanted to do something different, which is why I went with the paper.
I added some silver gems to accent the card (and hide some oops). The card base is Paper Trey Ink’s Enchanted Evening.
Whew! Three different challenges in one day! It was fun to work on something other than Christmas cards, and to use some new products.
Thanks for stopping by!
