Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge-Back to School

Welcome back! I spent a busy weekend card making, with lots to share! Today’s post is a quick one, to featuring the card I made for Simon Says Stamps’ Wednesday challenge.

This week the challenge’s theme is Back to School, featuring Penny Black products. I don’t have any Penny Black products, so I used some Stamping Bella Stamps that are new to me.

The images are from Rosie & Bernie in New York and Rosie & Bernie Statue of Liberty, which I stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black ink then colored with Copic markers. With the matching die, I cut out Rosie & Bernie and adhered them to the panel with the Statue using foam tape.

I had stamped the Statue on a separate panel as I don’t have a matching die and I’m not a big fan of fussy cutting. I did trim the Statue panel down with SSS Wonky Rectangles. I wish I had stamped the image a little more to the left, but I made it work.

The sentiment is from Stamping Bella’s Unicorn Sentiment set, which I thought was perfect. If you haven’t guessed yet, this card is for my daughter (the blue hair is the biggest clue, but also, well, New York🙂).

I used the smallest of MFT Fishtail Stitched Sentiment strips to die cut the sentiment, using the next biggest size on MFT Silver Sparkle cardstock, and layered the sentiment over the sparkle cardstock (a favorite trick of mine). The sentiment was tucked under the die cut image with double sided tape.

I adhered the decorated panel to a MFT Cool as Cucumber card base with a tape runner. I also added Glossy Accents to the sun glasses, for some added shine.

I think this is the perfect back to school card for my daughter. What do you think? If I keep making cards for her at this rate, she’ll come home with a suitcase full of them! But, I can’t help it, I miss her!

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
