Simon Says Stamps’ Wednesday Challenge-Use More Than One Stamp

Happy Memorial Day!  I would like to take this chance to remember those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Thank you to all that have served or are serving!

Today I am sharing the card I made for this week’s Simon Says Stamps’ Wednesday Challenge. This week the challenge is to use more than one stamp, and the product focus is Honey Bee Stamps. I only have one set from them, Camera Love. I happened to purchase this set because my daughter loves photography, so I decide to make Cait a card.

Believe it or not, I didn’t plan to use Nuvo Shimmer Powder on this card. I laid everything out, even embossed the heart. Then I was stumped trying to decide what to do with the background. Shimmer Powder to the rescue! I masked off the heart, and tapped some Violet Brocade on the card and then misted it with water.

I stamped out the images, colored them with Copic markers, and then die cut them. I added them to the card front with foam tape. I took some of the sentiments from the kit and added them into the mix. Glossy accents finish off the images. The card base is Gina K Design’s Blue Raspberry and the matching card is Simon Says Stamp’s Island Blue. I added the panel to the card base with fun foam.

This card is great for my daughter! The Shimmer Powder looks a bit like tie-dye, which she loves. And, of course the photography, which she is going to school for. I’m going to hunt up a good, encouraging sentiment for the inside, and give it to her before leaves for college. Oh, and I just realized I  am sharing a red, white and blue card today! That’s kinda lucky.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope you have a great day!

Nicole
