Hello and welcome back. Today I wanted to share a post including the cards I made using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero January 2018 kit. I previously shared the unboxing and the first card I made with the add on Confetti die.
I think I mentioned before that I was afraid it would be difficult to be “unique,” with this set. One of my goals with crafting is to try to do something different, or out of the box. I wasn’t sure I could do that with this kit, especially after the fabulous cards the design team shared. I kept my cards simple, and as you can see they are very similar. I stamped a bunch of panels all at once, in different colors.
This first card was stamped in a light pink Altenew ink (I forgot to keep track :(). The second layer was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with the Hero Arts silver powder from a previous kit. I repeated the heat embossing, so get the thicker, smoother look (I did the same on the first three cards). I matted the white panel on to some of the shimmery pink cardstock included in the kit. It’s beautiful! I also used the cardstock for the sub sentiment from the kit, and double heat embossed it. I adhered it to the card with foam tape. I added some Clear Sparkle Confetti sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish off the card.
For this card, I stamped the first layer in Delicata Pink Simmery ink, and the second layer was double embossed, as previously mentioned. I used MFT’s small banner from the Hearts in a Row Vertical set, and the sub sentiment is from MFT’s From the Heart. I added a sliver of MFT Silver Sparkle cardstock to the banner, and some Silver jewels from Studio Katia. The card base is Gina K Design’s Bubblegum Pink.
The first layer on this card was stamped in a Altenew’s Sea Breeze ink. The sub sentiment is again from MFT’s From the Heart, and I used a banner from the Hearts in a Row Vertical set. The jewels are from Lucy’s Cards and the card base is MFT’s Snow Cone.
For this card, I stamped the first layer in the ink from the kit (Royal Red) and the second layer in Altenew’s Jet Black. I added a heart cut out from MFT’s Wild Cherry cardstock, and stamped with a sub sentiment from From The Heart in Versafine ink and embossed. I added the little triple heart stamp from Concord and 9th’s Love and Hugs, and the jewels are Lucy’s Cards. The card base is more Wild Cherry.
Of course I had to stamp this on Gina K’s In the Navy cardstock and emboss in gold. I used Delicata’s White Shimmer ink on this one. I cut out a bunch of little hearts from Concord and 9th’s Hearts and Love in MFT’s Gold Foil cardstock. I like this set because it cuts out a bunch of hearts at one time. The card base is Gina K’s Kraft.
Bonus card! I used the left over panel from my first card with the Window on Love Confetti Fancy Die. I cut some more out of heavy weight white cardstock and layered them together. I cut out a heart from vellum using Hero Arts’ nesting hearts, as an anchor for the sentiment. The sentiment is from From the Heart, and I used the fishtail banners again. I embellished it with some of the leftover hearts.
If I didn’t specifically mention the card base, it was made with 110 lbs Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.
Whew, that was a lot of cards! And, posted just in time to receive the February kit!
Thanks for stopping by!
Nicole
These are all great but the Navy Blue and gold really blew me away.
