Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge -Something New

Hello! Happy Wednesday! Just a quick post from my phone today. I’m still not struggling with back issues, but I had to share this challenge and card as it’s not your ordinary challenge card.

As I mentioned in the title, the theme is Something New. This could be a new baby card, new house, or use crafty items that are new to you.

The company featured this week is Hero Arts. It just so happens that Hero Arts shipped a small selection of their new products for 2018 to a handful of stores early!!!! You can’t much newer than never before seen! Check out the hashtag #heroartsshopbox2018 to see all the post.

My stubbornness won out over my back pain this past week, and I drove about 49 miles to the closet store (Hero Arts has a list on their blog). I purchased a Stamp and Cut set, along with a set of quirky sentiments.

Sorry the pictures aren’t great, I was fighting the glare.

I used the topiary set to make a quick card.

I used Tumbled Glass Distress ink to add color to the inside of the square window (MFT Square Peekaboo Window). I stamped the leaves in three different green Altenew ink colors (Olive, Moss and Frayed Leaves).

The pot and root were stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored with Copic Markers. The sentiment was stamped with Altenew Jet Black ink, as was the bird. I die cut all the pieces and adhered them with foam tape.

Some iridescent jewels were added, and a MFT Sno Cone card base was used.

I love how the topiary is “layered,” giving it more interest. I also think the heart shape is cute. I’m thinking about trying it with shades of pink, as a valentine card.

Speaking of Valentine’s Day, there are so many incredible releases this week! Concord and 9th’s release yesterday was gorgeous! I definitely picked up a couple of items. Same with MFT! And, the layered flowers dies from Altenew!!! My budget and I are no longer speaking. I encourage you to check them all out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
