MFT Sketch Challenge 356

Hello and welcome back! Today’s card is made with the sketch for MFT’s Sketch challenge, but I am also going to use if for this week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday challenge. The SSS challenge was an “Anything Goes,” challenge, using WPlus9 products. Since I don’t have any WPlus9 products, and most of my weekend was spent wrapping up the Christmas cards I was making for a friend (more on that later), I decide to do a two for one.

Here is the sketch:

And, here is my card:

I went really simple with this card. I blended Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink on a card panel in an ombre effect. I used a water bottle to spray streams of water, as well as droplets, and then blotted the water. I heat embossed the “Falala,” from MFT’s Handwritten Holidays set, along with the snowflakes from the set. I cheated and used a “Happy Holidays,” stamp from Concord and 9th to round out the sentiment. This was stamped on a MFT Fishtail banner in Altenew Ruby Red. I cut out the bigger banner in MFT Silver Sparkle cardstock and layered them on the card. I added this to a white card base.

I was feeling a little burnt out on Christmas. I’ve been working on Christmas card designs that were easy to mass produce for some upcoming post, as well as the 15 cards my friend requested (all.the.same.card). But, when I saw this sketch, I knew I was going to use the Handwritten Holidays sentiment.

If everything goes well (I find the time to put the post together), I am going to start a Christmas Cards series this Friday. I was originally going to write one long post, but it became overwhelming really quickly.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
