30 Day Coloring Challenge

Happy Friday! As I mentioned in my last post, I’m participating in my first The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I really love coloring and this is a great excuse to color every day!

You can follow my daily work on my Instagram. I won’t post them here every day, but maybe I’ll post my shots from the week on Fridays. Still trying to work it out.

Day 1

The lambs are from Mama Elephants Wooly Winter, the other images are from Hero Arts MMH kits.

Day 2

This large floral image is from Ink Blot Shop Comfort and Hugs. This was my first attempt using watercolor pencils. I colored in the dark spots with the pencils and then used a water brush to move the color out. The image itself was heat embossed to help me from going out of the lines, and I used a watercolor paper that came with the Faber-Castell pencils.

Day 3

These adorable little guys are from Mama Elephant’s Plushoween set. I picked up some new Copic markers to get some fox appropriate colors. You can see where I experimented on the left. These guys are so fun to color!

Day 4

This card is from the post I made on Wednesday. It’s all Altnew, stamp and ink. The exception is the leaves, which I colored with Copic markers. Its a lot easier then trying to line up the tiny leaf stamps :). Only next time I’ll remember to use a Copic friendly ink to stamp the outline. I only had the ink bleed in one spot, and I was able to touch it up after I took this picture (I used a black gel pen). I was really careful after that one spot, to stay away from the ink.

As a side note, I notice so many blemishes on my cards when I post them here that I miss with the naked eye. As I do sell my cards on Etsy, it helps getting these close up looks before I post them on Etsy. Case in point, the first card from my post on Wednesday had a little tiny cat hair stuck under the unicorn’s front leg. I was able to remove the hair and take a new picture.

The new My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts ships today. Look out for an unboxing post early next week! This kit features color layering sunflowers and pumpkins, very fall like! I’ve ordered some orange and brown inks from Altenew just for the kit.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
