Hey all! Just a quick post to share the card I made for Paper Smooches’ June Challenge. The challenge this month is to make anything for the men in your life using Paper Smooches stamps and dies.
There is a hilarious story behind this card! A couple of friends asked me to make Father’s Day cards. Since my Father passed away, and I don’t have a significant other, I didn’t have a whole lot of male stamps or sentiments. I went ahead and ordered a cute stamp set from Lawn Fawn (Dad and Me) but in the mean time I thought I would go through what I do have, and at least put some cards together. I figured I could stamp “Happy Father’s Day” inside when I got the stamps. I ended up making a list of sentiments I thought would work. Then, I stamped a bunch of images Friday night, and colored them yesterday with copics. One of the cards I ended up with is this Paper Smooches card. Oh, and the Lawn Fawn stamps delivered early (thank you Simon Says Stamps and USPS)!
And of course, after I made this I posted it to my Facebook page, to see if anyone was interested and if I was on the right track as far as Father’s Day cards go.
Later on I was flipping through my phone, looking at the album of cards I have made (does anyone else do that). And that was when I realized, there was no cat on this card!!! I stamped, colored and die cut the cat, but I didn’t use it because it was too big for the die cut windows… But that didn’t stop me from using the sentiment I had listed to use… I had to tell someone, so I sent a message to my daughter.
This morning the first thing I did was glue the cat to the inside of the card. I also stamped a little paw print on the envelope.
I used MFT Stitched Triple Peek-a-boo Window and Edge die to cut out a panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock, and used Be Creative double sided tape to add the previously colored and die cute Paper Smooches Chubby Chums. I stamped the PS sentiment “You’re Purr-fect,” as well as the Lawn Fawn “Dad,” and “Happy Father’s Day,” in Altenew Jet Black. I tucked in a panel of Kraft cardstock from MFT. Then I realized the kraft section looked plain, so I used Versamark ink to stamp the paw print from the PS set, and heat embossed it with clear Recollections detail embossing powder. The kraft envelope is from Gina K. Designs, and I used Altenew Jet Black ink to stamp the paw print. I used a black gel pen to their eyes, Glossy Accents on the eyes of the cow, chick and dog.
